How to turn off digital tickets from being sent with orders

Updated yesterday

By default, buyers will receive a digital ticket with a QR code for each ticket type they have purchased, accessible via the order confirmation email using a view tickets button.

You can choose to turn off the sending of digital tickets entirely for all ticket types in an event, or for specific ticket types only.

Buyers will still receive a confirmation email, but with no digital ticket attached. You can also control the messaging that appears on each order confirmation email.

Custom messages on confirmation emails

Give buyers more context for your ticket delivery and important event information with a custom message! This appears just below the Ticket and Event Information on the confirmation email sent to buyers.

To turn off the sending of digital tickets

  1. Manage your event and navigate to the advanced > settings page on the left-hand menu bar

  2. Under the tickets tab, toggle OFF send tickets

    1. For all ticket types OR

    2. For specific ticket types

  3. Choose your messaging that will appear on the confirmation email:

    1. Access to digital tickets will be available at a later date

    2. Tickets are not required for this event

    3. No messaging (default)

Turn off sending tickets for specific ticket types

If you want to send digital tickets for some ticket types but not others, keep send tickets toggled ON, and use the set per ticket type dropdown.

You can choose the messaging to appear on the confirmation email under the ticket type list.

Example: "Access to digital tickets will be available at a later date"

When this option is selected, the QR code of the buyer's first ticket will be replaced with another placeholder graphic. The "View Tickets" button and any Google, Apple, and Samsung wallet links will also be removed from the confirmation email.

The text "Access to digital tickets is not yet available. Tickets will be released at a later date." will appear on the confirmation email.

Why release tickets later?
Releasing tickets at a later date is optional, but can be incredibly useful for in-demand or high-ticket-priced events looking to deter scalping and fraudulent transactions.

You can boost your event's security by controlling resales through Humanitix. Buyers can sell their tickets or action name changes without needing to access their tickets.

The graphic on the confirmation email and the text cannot be customised further.

If you need to provide any further messaging, we recommend using a custom message on the order confirmation email.

Delivering access to tickets at a later date

When digital tickets are not sent, access to or the resending of digital tickets is not automated.

Once you're ready to release access to ticket sales, you can give access using an email campaign.
Craft an email to all buyers/attendees and include a unique link to their digital ticket using the available shortcut: "@ViewTickets".

Example: "Tickets are not required for this event"

When this option is enabled, the QR code of the buyer's first ticket will be replaced with another placeholder graphic. The "View Tickets" button and any Google, Apple, and Samsung wallet links will also be removed from the confirmation email.

The text "Tickets are not required for this event" will appear on the confirmation email.

Enable this option if you want to communicate to buyers that tickets will not need to be presented on the day and do not need to be engaged with. You can cut down customer enquiries and on-the-door friction from buyers trying to look for tickets.

Example: "No messaging"

When this option is enabled, the QR code of the buyer's first ticket will be removed. The "View Tickets" button and any Google, Apple, and Samsung wallet links will also be removed.

No further text will appear on the confirmation email.
