By default, Humanitix will always collect the full name, email address, and mobile of the buyer making the ticket purchase.
You can choose to collect a unique name and/or email address for each ticket that a buyer purchases in their order by using a checkout question.
To collect a name for each ticket:
Manage your event via the events tab
Head to checkout questions on the left-hand menu bar
Click + add question
Select the full name template
βThis question will automatically apply to each ticket
Tip: To ensure buyers enter the names of each ticket holder during checkout, you can toggle ON required. The ticket purchase cannot be completed until these fields are filled in.
β
Always consider if this, and any other information, is required or not. Too many required questions will cause friction at checkout and may impact your sales.
Unique names on tickets will appear on the attendee's report, which is a list of all ticket holders
As opposed to the orders report, which is a list of all buyers
To collect an email address for each ticket:
Click + add question and select the email pre-built template question.
The email template answer has special properties. Email addresses captured using this question will populate in your attendees report and allow buyers to send tickets to each individual ticket holder. This is not possible if you create a "text" custom checkout question.
To enforce a unique name, email or mobile for each ticket:
Manage your event via the events tab
Head to Advanced on the left-hand menu bar
Click Settings
Toggle on the "Enable unique ticket answers" setting
Once turned on, you will be able to select what data fields you want to enforce unique answers for. You can enforce unique answers for the ticket holder Full name, Email, and Mobile data fields:
This will enforce each of the tickets within an order to have unique answer for the selected data fields.
Eg: Ticket 1 and Ticket 2 within an order will not be able to have the same name, or contact email if those data fields have unique answers enforced.
Commonly Asked Questions
Can I change the 'default' buyer questions asked for each order?
Humanitix will always ask for the full name, email address, and mobile for each order. These questions cannot be removed. You can, however, make the mobile question optional.
The terminology "buyer" cannot be changed.
You can have additional questions appear in the buyer section by applying your checkout questions to order rather than tickets. These questions are applied once per order and therefore appear with the buyer's details.
What happens if I have not collected a unique name on each ticket?
If you have not collected a unique name on each ticket, or if the question is optional and has not been filled out by a buyer, then the buyer's name will automatically apply to each ticket.
