Discounts are a great way to entice newcomers, reward your returning customers or offer discounted tickets to VIPs and members. Buyers will enter the code you create during checkout to apply their discount. Automatic discounts can be created if you don't want buyers to enter a code.
You can create multiple fixed-amount or percentage (%) discount codes that can be applied to selected - or all - ticket types. You can also restrict how many tickets can be discounted by this code per order and over its lifetime.
How to create a discount code

Quantity refers to how many times the code can be used in total across all orders

Discounts apply per ticket.
For example, a 10% discount code applied to an order of 4 tickets will give a 10% discount off each ticket price. If the price of tickets varies, so does the discount.
Discount codes and packaged tickets: Discounts always apply per ticket. They do not apply to a packaged ticket. For tickets sold in packages, the discount quantity still applies to individual tickets, not the package as a whole.
Packaged tickets are designed to offer a discount on a group or bundle of tickets. Choosing between packaged tickets and discount codes will depend on your event's needs.
How to create multiple discount codes by uploading a CSV
You can create discount codes en masse by uploading a CSV, rather than creating them one at a time, and it is useful for generating many unique codes for the same discount, such as for members or promoters.
For example, you could use a unique Member ID or an email address as a code name.
Click create discount code / add code > select CSV upload
Download the template CSV file and copy your unique discount codes > save
One row = one discount codeUpload the CSV file
Set up the discount amount as directed in the steps above
Your discount will apply to each code that is uploaded
If you need to upload discount codes of different values, you will need to create separate CSV files and upload them separately with the appropriate discount settings.
How do ticket buyers apply their discount code during checkout?
There are two ways to apply discount codes for ticket buyers:
OPTION 1: Enter a discount code during checkout
Buyers can use the discount code field that will appear above their ticket selection or ticket information pages to manually enter and apply their discount code.
Note: The discount will apply when a ticket is added to a buyer's cart.
OPTION 2: Use the unique companion link to automatically apply a discount
Buyers can be given a unique link that directs them to the event page AND auto-applies the discount code. They do not need to manually enter their discount code.
Find your discount code on the discount codes page
Copy the link next to your discount

Commonly asked questions
If a buyer uses a 100% off discount code will we still have to pay booking fees?
If a buyer uses a 100% off discount code will we still have to pay booking fees?
Booking fees are only charged on paid tickets. If a 100% discount is applied, this means the ticket price is $0. This ticket is now 'free' so booking fees will not be charged.
