How to create global discount codes that apply to multiple events

Global discount codes are discounts that can be applied to one or multiple events under your Humanitix account. Discount codes can be created at the event level but are specific only to that event.

Global discount codes are great if you're looking to offer recurring discounts to audiences like members or discounts across an entire event series.

To create a global discount code:

  1. Select promote > global discount codes via the top menu

  2. Click create code

  3. Enter your code name
    ​This is what buyers will enter during checkout

  4. Enter the percentage (%) or fixed amount discount applied per ticket

  5. Select which events this code will apply to

  6. Enter quantity which is the total number of tickets that can be discounted by this code

  7. [Optional] Enter the maximum use per order

Selecting all events will mean your code applies to all existing and future events.

Both quantity and maximum use per order are applied on the ticket level.

Commonly asked questions

Can I filter the event search for "live" events only?

Currently, the event selector will show all events, including past and live events, and you must manually select any live events.

If your global discount code should apply to all live events, you can simply choose to apply the code to "all events". This will auto-apply the code to every existing and new event under your account.

Can another user see the global discount codes I have created?

Global discount codes are only visible to the account that created them; they cannot be shared between users. Only event access can be shared between accounts.

If you're operating within a team, we would recommend that all events and global discount codes be created within a single 'admin' account. Individual event access can be shared with other users as needed.

Can you export companion URL links for global discount codes?

Yes. While on the promote > global discount codes page, click the export icon.

This downloads a CSV file of all global discount codes, including the unique companion URL links for every event that these codes are applied to.
