We’ve released the Humanitix payment gateway for all events running in GBP allowing you to sell paid tickets for your events and accept card payments without needing to use Stripe.
All new events created will transact on the Humanitix payment gateway, however, you can choose to continue using Stripe to receive ticket sales.
How does the Humanitix payment gateway work?
When the Humanitix payment gateway is connected to your event:
Stripe is replaced as the payment gateway and sales will not flow into your Stripe account
Ticket sales are held with the event and paid out automatically by Humanitix to your nominated bank account 2 business days after the event end date.
All payment processing fees are covered by the Humanitix booking fee. This fee is passed on to the ticket buyer, by default.
You can choose to keep using the Stripe payment gateway for specific events or all of your events.
The Humanitix payment gateway will be available only for new events. If you have created and sold tickets for an existing event, Stripe will remain the payment gateway.
Changes to booking fees
For new events the booking fee charged for paid tickets will change to:
5.6% + 55p per paid ticket (standard booking fee) from 2.1% + 99p
4% + 30p per paid ticket (NFP discounted rate) from 1% + 99p
Humanitix booking fees include all payment processing fees for ticket sales transacted through the Humanitix payment gateway.
Stripe's payment processing fees are always charged separately.
What do I need to do?
There is no application or further approval needed to use the Humanitix payment gateway for your events. This is available for all event hosts.
Every new event you create will automatically have the Humanitix payment gateway applied.
Ensure you have created a bank account within Humanitix via my account > account > bank account

If you want to continue using Stripe:
Navigate to my account > account > default payment gateway, click connect Stripe and follow the prompts.
Every new event will automatically have the Stripe payment gateway applied.
We can continue to offer the original Humanitix booking fee of 2.1% + 99p (1% + 99p NFP).
Please contact the Humanitix support team to ensure this rate is applied to your account. This applies to existing accounts only.
If you want to use Stripe for a specific event but use the Humanitix payment gateway for all others:
Manage your event and navigate to the payments and fees > gateways page on the left-hand menu.
Choose Stripe as the payment gateway. This applies to only this event.
What are the benefits of the Humanitix payment gateway?
No account required: No need to create and manage additional account, like Stripe, before you can start selling paid tickets. Create an event and start selling immediately.
Save money: All payment processing fees for the Humanitix payment gateway are covered by the Humanitix booking fee, which is passed on to buyers by default, meaning you can take home 100% of the ticket sale.
Stripe charges payment processing fees that are always deducted from your sales before being paid out to you. These fees are separate to the Humanitix booking fee.Easy funds management: Funds are held with the event and paid out to your nominated bank account automatically 2 business days after the event end date.
If you’re looking for flexible access to ticket sales ahead of the event we would recommend continuing to use Stripe as your payment gateway.
