Understanding your event payout and payout receipt

How is your event payout calculated and processed?

Generally speaking, your event payout is the combined total of the payout from each item sold.

However, the final amount you receive may differ depending on what gateway has been used for your event and where your event is held.

For Humanitix payment gateway

Your event payout is the combined total of the payout from each item sold.

For Afterpay and ZipPay

Your event payout is the combined total of the payout from each item sold, minus any applicable fees charged by Afterpay or ZipPay.

For events with orders transacted via Humanitix payment gateway, Afterpay and ZipPay, payments are processed and transferred from Humanitix to the bank account you have provided on Humanitix, as instructed in this guide, usually within 5 business days after your event date ends. When a payment is processed, you'll receive an automatic email from Humanitix to confirm the payout with a PDF payout receipt attached.

For Stripe, Pin and Airwallex

Your event payout is the combined total of the payout from each item sold, minus any applicable fees charged by Stripe, Pin and Airwallex.

In this case, your event payout will be transferred from Stripe, Pin or Airwallex to the bank account you have provided to them (not Humanitix). It's important to note that adding a bank account on Humanitix as instructed here does not provide the same banking details to Stripe, Pin or Airwallex. In other words, to receive payouts from Stripe, Pin or Airwallex, you will need to tell them separately where to send the money.

Stripe is required for all events not running in AUD, NZD, GBP or USD. It is an optional gateway for these 4 currencies.

For events running in USD

For all USD orders, Humanitix may be required to automatically calculate and remit any applicable sales tax on your behalf (learn more about US sales tax). These tax amounts are deducted from your event payout, regarless which gateway you use.


What is included in your event payout?

Your event payout from Humanitix includes:

  • Any debit and credit card, paypal sales made online when the Humanitix payment gateway was your selected gateway.

  • Any box office card sales made via the Humanitix for Hosts app

  • Any Afterpay or ZipPay sales

  • All revenue from ticket sales, add on sales, and donations inclusive

  • Any Tax, GST, VAT calculated on your sales*
    ​Note: this may not include sales tax for some USD events that may automatically remited.

Your event payout does not include:

  • Any manual orders

  • Any cash sales made via the Humanitix for Hosts app

  • Any invoiced orders paid to your account directly

  • Any sales that occurred on another payment gateway, such as Stripe

  • *Any state sales tax (USD events) that Humanitix is required to remit

  • Any passed-on Humanitix booking fees. Only absorbed fees will be mentioned, as only these fees affect your payout amount.


Tracking your event payout

You can view any upcoming payout or the history of payments for an event by navigating to the payments and fees > payouts page of your event.

Here you can also see which bank account an event payout was made to and when.

Note that this page only displays payout details for transactions managed through the Humanitix payment gateway. Stripe payments and payouts are not tracked here, and you should use the Stripe dashboard for such details.

When event payouts are made from Humanitix, they are given a unique payout reference that can be found on the payouts page, payout receipt and your bank account.

  • Sales via Humanitix payments: Any card or PayPal sales made through the Humanitix payment gateway. It does not include manual orders, invoiced orders, or sales made when Stripe is the connected gateway.

  • Sales via Box office card payments: Any card sales made via the Humanitix for Hosts app using tap-to-pay or manual card entry. It does not include cash sales.

  • Absorbed Humanitix fees: Any booking fees you have chosen to absorb. It does not include any passed-on booking fees, which do not affect your payout.

  • Refunds: Total amount refunded across all tickets

  • Estimated payouts due from Humanitix: The total expected payout amount

  • Paid to date: Amounts paid so far.

  • Current balance: The estimated payout due minus any amounts paid to date.


PDF payout receipt

When an event is paid out, you'll receive a payout confirmation email with an attached PDF payout receipt. This payout receipt includes:

  • Details of the bank account the payout was made

  • The reference of the payout as it appears on your bank account statement

  • Your event details

  • Payout history showing all payouts made for this event

  • Payout breakdown is also seen on your payouts page

  • Earnings & Tax to date showing the total sum owed to you after all fees, discounts, refunds, etc and the total sum of tax calculated on your sales.

  • Earnings by type showing the breakdown of earnings by ticket type, add ons and donations.
