There are two reasons why you may have been charged a higher booking fee than expected by Humanitix:
1. You paid using an American Express (Amex) card
As a buyer, if you paid with an Amex card at checkout, you will pay an additional charge on top of the order total. This is also known as an Amex Surcharge.
For AUD and NZD events, the Amex Surcharge is 1.1%.
For USD events, the Amex Surcharge is 1.5%.
2. You paid using PayPal
As a buyer, if you paid for your order through your PayPal account at checkout, you will pay an additional charge on top of the order total.
This is also known as a PayPal Surcharge.
The PayPal surcharges differ across currencies
For events charged in AUD and NZD this surcharge is 1.5%
For events charged in USD this surcharge is 3.5%
