Using the split fee option, you can share the cost Humanitix booking fee from paid tickets and donations with your ticket buyers. Splitting the fee makes it more accessible for your buyers while ensuring you still take home most of the ticket sale.
Splitting the booking fee involves passing on or absorbing the individual components of your booking fee.
Passed on = The buyer pays this
Absorbed = You pay this
There are two components to a Humanitix booking fee which are charged per ticket
Percentage fee e.g. 4%
Fixed fee e.g. $0.99
By default, the entire Humanitix booking fee is passed on to the buyer.
There are fees that cannot be shared with buyers, such as Stripe payment processing fees, AMEX and PayPal surchagres, Afterpay and Zippay fees.
How to split the booking fees on a single event
Manage your event via the events tab
Head to payments and fees > settings
Select the booking fees tab
Click the split fees option
For both the fixed fee and percentage fee components, adjust the amount that you would like to pass on or absorb as a percentage.
Note: You can ignore the payment fee
For example: You wish to pass on the fixed fee and absorb the percentage.
The fixed fee is 100% passed on, and the percentage fee is 100% absorbed.
A $20 ticket to an attendee will cost $20.99.
You’ll take home $19.20 ($20 - 4%)
Split fees will apply to your whole event and cannot be set per ticket type.
Set split fees as a default for all events under your account
Click account > my account on the top menu bar
Select default payment settings
Select split fees and enter your fee split > click save
To apply this split fee to all existing events click apply to all when prompted
