Changes to how ticket prices and booking fees are displayed
Changes to how ticket prices and booking fees are displayed
Updated over a week ago

We have made an important change to how ticket prices and fees are displayed across all events on Humanitix for events where fees are being passed on to the buyer.

What has changed?

All ticket prices shown to buyers are now inclusive of fees. This will affect all currencies.
This affects prices shown on:

  • The price range of tickets displayed on the event page

  • The ticket prices on the ticket selection page

  • 'Price ranges' will no longer be displayed on the main event page. Ticket prices will only appear on the ticket selection page after clicking "Get tickets".

With this change, ticket prices will still appear with the booking fee, however, the net value of the ticket will be displayed first (exclusive of fees) followed by the fee.

A detailed breakdown of the ticket's face value, booking fees, and taxes will still be available during the checkout process.

This change has taken effect from the 5th September 2024

An example scenario

Here's how a ticket price of $50 with a passed-on booking fee of $2.20 would be displayed:

Why have we made this change?

New legislations are being released globally that require pricing across many industries, including ticketing, to be more transparent for buyers. As a result, we’re aligning with these changes by displaying all ticket prices inclusive of all passed-on fees. Currently, only the face value of the ticket is displayed and fees are added to the order total.

What isn't changing?

  • There is no change in fees to you (the host) or buyers. We’re only changing how ticket prices and fees are displayed, to be more transparent to buyers.

  • There is no change to how tax is displayed on tickets. Tax display settings stay the same.

  • There is no change to how ticket prices are displayed when fees are absorbed. Absorbed fees will not be communicated to buyers.
