By splitting the booking fee you can share the costs associated with running your event, making it more accessible for your attendees and letting you take home more of the ticket sale. It’s a win-win.
Splitting the booking fee involves passing on or absorbing the individual components of your booking fee. When a booking fee is passed on, it is added to the ticket price at checkout and is covered by the attendee. When a booking fee is absorbed, it is deducted from your ticket sale before it is paid to you.
There are two components to a standard booking fee of 4% + 99c (excluding booking fee taxes) per ticket (AUD events):
The 4% is referred to as the percentage fee
The 99c is referred to as the fixed fee

Note: You can ignore the payment fee
For example: You wish to pass on the 99c to the attendee and pay the 4% yourself.
The fixed fee is set to 100% passed on, and the percentage fee is set to 100% absorbed.
