Updated over a week ago

If you don’t have a new date 📅

  1. Click the events tab and select the event you need to postpone

  2. Click the actions menu button 💬 in the top right corner, and select Stop sales from the drop-down menu. This will prevent further ticket sales or registrations until you decide your new date

  3. Send an email campaign to notify your attendees of the postponement

  4. Optional: Include a note in your event description/title to communicate to prospective attendees that the event is postponed. Do this by going to the event information page and adding POSTPONED to the event title.

  5. Click the chat bubble to the bottom right and contact our team to pause the payout of your event so that you can process any refunds

If you have a new date 📆

Once you have decided on a new date, you can update your event:

  1. Click the events tab and select the event you would like to reschedule

  2. Go to the event information page and amend your event date

  3. Send an email campaign to notify your attendees of the rescheduled date

  4. Make sure to resume sales if you have placed a stop sales indicator on the event (see above).

All valid tickets purchased under this date will be automatically transferred to the new date and ticket sales will continue until the revised date.

💡 Tips:

  • Let attendees know ASAP: Let your attendees know about the postponement as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that people will ask for a refund.

  • Communicate through multiple channels: Reach out through multiple channels such as an email campaign and your social media, in case some attendees miss the message.

  • Be upfront on refund policies: In your email and communications, include clear directions on how attendees can request a refund through you if they cannot make the postponed date.

  • Process refunds quickly: Process refunds for those who cannot make the postponed date in a timely manner. Check out our guide on refunding tickets here

Payouts for postponed events 💵

Humanitix will hold the payout of any postponed event to allow you to process refunds if required until the new event date has been selected.

If your event date has been updated to a new date, the event will be paid out after this new date.

If your event has successfully gone ahead and you have not received your payout please reach out to us via the chat bubble 💬 to lodge a payout request
