How to share scanning app access with volunteers and staff

You can share event access with your team of volunteers and staff who can download the Humanitix for Hosts app onto their devices and help scan, check in, and sell tickets.

Every device that will check in guests will need to download the Humanitix for Hosts app. Search for the app in your app store or download it below:

How to share event access via the app

Multiple users and devices can share access to the event and scan tickets simultaneously. Check-in data is synced between all devices (during an active internet connection).

Users with shared access via the app only have permission to scan and check in attendees. They cannot edit the event or view any sensitive financial information. You can give further access via the account > permissions page while logged into Humanitix via browser.

On your device:

  1. Open the event you would like to share

  2. Tap the menu "..." in the top right

  3. Select share event access

  4. Present the QR code to the other user

On the other user's device:

  1. Advise them to download and log in to the Humanitix for Hosts app

  2. Select the get event access link on the home page

  3. Scan the event access QR code with their device


How to share event access ahead of the event via account permissions

You can also share event access with your team before the day via the Humanitix console on your browser. This can be limited to scanning app access only.

  1. Navigate to account > permissions on the top menu bar

  2. Click share permissions and enter the email address of your volunteer/staff

  3. Select event specific access and choose all relevant event(s)

  4. Select scanning app access only


Use a generic login to manage access for large numbers of volunteers or staff

You can avoid the need for your team to sign up on Humanitix and receive access individually by creating and sharing a single, generic login that has scanning permissions already shared:

  1. Sign up with a new account on Humanitix e.g. [email protected] Password= YourEventName2024
    ​(Note: this should be a valid email address that can receive a verification email)

  2. Log in to the account that created the event

  3. Head to account > permissions

  4. Click share permissions

  5. Enter the generic email address

  6. Share event-specific > app access only.

  7. On the day, staff can download the Humanitix for Hosts app and log in using the generic account details.

Your team can only access the event on the app and won’t be able to make changes to the event or see sensitive financial data.
