Create a seat map and manage assigned seating [NEW]

Seating maps enable assigned seating for your event, recreating your venue's seating layout with row, table or area seating elements before mapping your ticket types.

Allow buyers to choose their own seats during checkout using the interactive seat map, or manually assign and manage seating behind the scenes.

This guide is for the new version of the seating map tool, which will soon replace the existing seat map builder.
For the current seat map version, visit this guide.

Map ticket types to your seats

Ticket mapping tells the system where buyers can sit based on the ticket type they have selected and is required if you want to allow buyers to choose their seats during checkout, or manually assign them to seats.

This is where you can also control restricted seating for tiered-pricing, VIP, or Staff ticket types, for example.

To map your ticket types to seats

  1. While on the seating map tab click edit map

  2. Select the mapping tab

  3. Select a row, table or multiple rows to edit

  4. On the right-hand menu, click to search and select the ticket types that apply to these seats

You can map multiple ticket types to the same seat, but each seat can only be purchased once.

Selecting individual seats within a row or table

Use the seat selector tool to select single or multi-select seats within or across different rows. This allows you to change the ticketing mapping of specific seats without changing the entire row or table.

Change the colour scheme of ticket types

Ticket types are automatically assigned a colour scheme that appears in your mapping view and on the checkout for buyers. You can manually change the colour scheme by clicking the colour "square" of an assigned ticket type, then selecting your desired colour from the picker.

This will update all seats assigned to that ticket type.

Review your ticket mapping

Use the review tab to resolve any errors in your ticket mapping, including mismatches between the number of tickets that have been mapped to your seats, ensuring you do not oversell or undersell any tickets or seats.

Types of review errors:

  • Seats exceed ticket capacity

    • The number of seats you have mapped to this ticket is higher than the actual ticket capacity set for the ticket type. This ticket type would sell out before all seats can be sold.

  • Unseated ticket capacity

    • You have more tickets available than actual seats. Buyers would not be able to complete checkout as there are no seats to choose from.

Match capacity to map

Use the match capacity to map option to automatically "sync" your ticket type capacity to the number of seats you have mapped on the seat map.

This will override the capacity for your ticket types as set on the tickets > ticket types page.

To make changes to your ticket capacity in the future, edit the ticket mapping for that ticket type on the seat map.

Add a focal point to enable "best available" seating

Adding a focal point to your seat map will enable a best available seat selection prompt for buyers during checkout. A focal point should be used at the centre of your most ideal seating location, or the area you want to fill up first.

Click the focal point icon on the floating menu bar and place it over your seat map.

You can only have one focal point for an event.

How does the focal point appear to buyers?

During checkout, buyers can choose to select the find best available for me option, which will automatically assign their tickets to the closest available seats to your focal point.

Buyers can always choose to manually select their seats instead and/or edit their seats after their initial assignment.
