Create custom messages that appear when a ticket is checked in

Check-in messages appear on the device's screen when a certain ticket or ticket type has been checked in using the Humanitix for Host app.

Use these custom messages to prompt your volunteers or staff with important information, include instructions for VIPs or help direct certain ticket type holders to the right location.

To create a check-in message

Manage your event via the events tab in your browser, then select the host app tab via the left-hand menu. Check-in messages cannot be created in the app.

  1. Click +add new message

  2. Give your message a heading

  3. Select the date(s) this message applies to (if you have recurring dates)

  4. Select whether this applies to "all attendees", "by ticket type", or "specific attendees"

  5. Enter your text in the message area


How check-in messages appear in the host app

Your custom message will appear on the confirmation notification when a ticket has been scanned or manually checked in via the search tab.

The app user must click done to close the message to continue scanning the next ticket.
