How to enable ticket resale
Manage your event via the events tab
Navigate to manage attendees > resale
Toggle on enable ticket resale
optional: Apply resale to only select tickets using the custom option
AND/ORoptional: Set a delayed start time or end time for resale
You can enable resale at any time, even after ticket sales have commenced.
Enabling resale with a delayed start time will communicate to ticket holders that resale is available, but not until 'x' date
Control the visibility of resale
While resale can be enabled for your event, allowing buyers to action resales if required, you can also control how resale is advertised on your event page. You may choose to limit the public promotion of resale until a later date, or for specific ticket types only.
Under the Resale communication on the select tickets page, you have 3 options:
Hidden = No mention of resale on the event page
Dynamic = Availability of public resale tickets appears only for sold-out ticket types
Always on = Persistent banner on the event page promoting resale

How does resale on Humanitix work?
Humanitix's resale is incredibly secure and ensures only legitimate buyers can resell tickets. Here's how the resale system works:
Original ticket holder purchases their ticket on Humanitix
They list their ticket for resale via a unique link or public resale page
When a ticket is resold to a new buyer, the original order is refunded, and the ticket is cancelled
A new order and ticket are created for the buyer
Sellers can only list a ticket at 100% of the face value of the ticket
Tracking your resales
You can see how many tickets in total have been listed for resale and/or resold by navigating to the overview page while managing your event. Resale counts are shown below your event earnings.
You can also view how many tickets have been resold for each ticket type.
View orders bought through resale
To see a list of all orders that have been purchased via the resale, navigate to the orders/refunds > orders page on the left-hand menu while managing your event.
Click the filter to the right of the search bar and select sales channel = resale
Note: It is currently not possible to view a list of buyers who are actively listing their tickets for resale, but have not resold them.
Commonly asked questions
Can a resale be cancelled or undone?
Can a resale be cancelled or undone?
Tickets that have been listed for resale, but not resold, can be removed. Sellers can action this via the manage order > resale tab and clicking stop resale next to each ticket.
However, all successful resales are final. The original ticket is cancelled and refunded. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
A buyer says their card has been cancelled/blocked. How do they get their refund?
A buyer says their card has been cancelled/blocked. How do they get their refund?
Refunds can only be processed through Humanitix to the original card used for their purchase.
If a buyer claims their card is no longer valid, they can still use the resale system to resell their ticket. In many cases, closed or expired cards can still receive a refund.
Buyers should contact their bank if they no longer have access to their account.
If a refund cannot be processed their order will appear as resold - not refunded in the orders report.
You (the host) will need to arrange a refund via an alternative method outside of Humanitix. For example, via direct bank transfer to the buyer. The original sale will not have been refunded so funds are still paid out to you.
Can Humanitix resale be used for name changes?
Can Humanitix resale be used for name changes?
Yes! Humanitix resale is a really easy and secure way for ticket holders to issue a name change to their friends through a private resale.
Ticket holders should list their tickets for private resale and send the unique link to their friends to purchase their ticket(s).
The seller is refunded within 2-5 business days, and the new buyer is issued a new ticket under their details.
By encouraging buyers to use a resale facility to pass on tickets you can mitigate any issues around ticket ownership, or should any refunds need to be issued, then these are issued to the new ticket holder, not the original buyer. By undergoing a private resale, this also means your buyers don't need to transfer funds outside of Humanitix, making the exchange a more secure process.
