Track conversations and purchases through Meta Pixel within your Humanitix Account

Updated over a week ago

Looking to track conversions and purchases within your Meta Business account? You can integrate your Meta Pixel directly with your Humanitix account and events.

Get your Pixel ID

First, you’ll need the ID of the Pixel you want to install on your event pages. To get this, follow Meta’s Getting Started Guide to create a Pixel and/or copy your Pixel ID.

Integrate with Humanitix

Once you have a Pixel ID, head back into your Humanitix account, and via the top tool bar, navigate to account → advanced → integrations → default tracking IDs.

Paste in your Pixel ID in the Facebook Pixel field and click save! You’ll also be able to apply your Pixel to all previous events in your account.

Congratulations, your Pixel is now installed on your Humanitix event pages!

But wait… Don’t I need to verify my domain?

📓 Due to Meta’s Aggregated Event Management (AEM) system, businesses are required to verify their domain for certain Pixel functionality. You can read more about Aggregated Event Measurement here.

Because Humanitix is a third party, you won’t be able to verify the Humanitix domain, (where your event pages are hosted), and prioritise/optimise the conversions taking place.

Fear not! As you have a number of workarounds to ensure you’re accurately optimising your Meta advertising spend, see below:

Option 1 (Easier): Redirect After Checkout

Instead of integrating your Meta Pixel directly on Humanitix, and tracking purchase conversions on our domain, you can instead send customers back to your own website once they’ve made a successful purchase, and track your purchase conversion on your own domain 🎉

To set this up:

  1. Create a dedicated landing page on your website where you’d like to have customers sent to post-purchase. Ensure your Meta Pixel is installed on this page.
Tip: Theme the wording of your page with language like “Thanks for your purchase!” or “We can’t wait to see you!”

  2. In Humanitix, navigate to events → {Your Event} → advanced → settings → checkout in the left hand side toolbar of your event. At the bottom of the page, turn on the “Redirect after checkout” option, and enter the URL of the landing page you created in step 1

  3. Navigate to your Meta Pixel and open the Event Set Up Tool. Once you have the Event Set Up Tool open, click the “Track a URL” button to trigger visits to your landing page as a ‘Purchase’ event

Now, whenever someone completes a purchase on your event, Humanitix will redirect them to your landing page where the purchase conversion event will fire 🎉

Option 2 (More Difficult): Embedded Widgets & Humanitix Echo

If you’d prefer to keep customers on your website for the entirety of the purchase journey, you can utilise the Buy Tickets Embedded Widget to install the checkout flow on your own landing page.

On top of this, Humanitix supports a mechanism to communicate with the existing Meta Pixel you already have installed on your website, via a tool called Humanitix Echo.

With this option, you’ll have the added benefits of:

  • Tracking conversions on your own, verified domain, in compliance with the Meta Aggregated Event Management system,

  • Recording conversions for mid-funnel events, such as Tickets Added and Entered Details - Not just the final Purchase event

  • Capturing a monetary value with your purchase conversion

For this option, you’ll need to have Google Tag Manager set up on your website, or have the ability to add a code snippet to your landing page code.
