By default, a buyer can purchase as few as 1 ticket and as many as 300 tickets per order within a single checkout session. You can set a further limit on the maximum or minimum number of tickets across all ticket types that a buyer can purchase per order.
If you are looking to limit the number of tickets that can be purchased for a given ticket type, as opposed to for any ticket type, learn more from this guide.
To set a minimum or maximum number of tickets that can be purchased per order across all ticket types:
Head to advanced > settings in the left-hand menu bar
Select the tickets tab
Set the min / max tickets per order
For example, if the max is set to '6', a ticket buyer can only add 6 tickets across all ticket options to their cart: 3 x General Admission + 3 x Child or 4 x General Admission + 2 x Child, etc. They will receive an error message prompting them to remove excess tickets from their cart if they go over.
Setting a minimum of "1" tickets per order will NOT automatically add a ticket/ticket type to an order.
Buyers must always opt-in to purchase a ticket type.
However, setting a "minimum of 2" means a buyer must add at least 1 more ticket after they have added their first to their order in order to continue.
Commonly asked questions
Can I limit the number of tickets a buyer can purchase across all their orders?
Minimum and Maximum limits can only apply to a ticket and order level. A buyer can return and make another order where the same limits will apply. You cannot restrict the number of tickets someone can purchase based on their name, email address, phone number etc.
In reality, such restrictions would be easily circumnavigated. For example, a buyer could use an alternate email address or a different spelling of their name or use another person's details.
