Create app profiles for the Host app

App profiles can be used to quickly control ticket filtering and check-in or check-out-only modes. You can create different profiles to represent different entry locations or on-site roles.

Users must select an existing app profile before scanning an event. They will only be able to check in the ticket types or check in groups predefined to their profile.

Profiles can be locked with a 4-digit PIN to prevent accidental or unauthorised access to different profiles.

How to create an app profile

To create an app profile, manage your event via your browser and select the host app tab on the left-hand menu. App profiles cannot be created via the app.

  1. Select the app profiles tab.

  2. Click +add new profile

  3. Enter a profile name

  4. Optional PIN

  5. Select a Check-in mode

    1. Check-in & out

    2. Checkout only

    3. Check-in only

  6. Select which ticket types or check-in groups ticket scanning will be pre-filtered for

Check-in and Checkout only modes

Profiles that are set to check-in only can check-in tickets only. The option to "check out" is unavailable.
Profiles that are set to checkout only can checkout tickets only. Tickets will not be checked-in when re-scanned.

How app profiles appear in the Host app

Once any profile has been created, it will appear in the Humanitix for Hosts app.

After selecting an event to scan, a user will be prompted to choose an app profile.

If a PIN has been required, they must enter this PIN before joining the profile is completed.

Once a profile is selected, the device can only scan or search the ticket types or check-in groups that have been filtered for the app profile.

Users cannot change the ticket type filtering for the app profile through the app itself.

Changes to app profiles

Changes to app profiles, such as editing the ticket types or check-in groups filtered for scanning can be done at anytime. These changes will reflect immediately in any device using that profile, however the device must have an active internet connection for any updates to occur.
